holy update batman

So if you only hear about us from the blog you must be dying to know what the secret mission was. I was on my job interview at UNH. I got the job and its been a crazy road ever since. We trekked back to the East Coast in the beginning of June in an enourmous rig. The truck was a 22' International Diesel and we towed Meaghan's car behind us. It was quite an adventure but lots of fun. Meaghan called it our "Marriage Counseling".

On the subject of marriage, we took the plunge and got hitched all in the same day. It was such a great event and we were so happy to have most of our friends and family there to share it with us.

Work has been great so far for me. I've been having a lot of fun with camp and am starting to get in the swing of things with the rest of my responsibilities at work. It is pretty neat to have my own office and everything else that goes along with a big kid job. Meaghan accepted a job as a 9th and 10th grade English teacher at Somersworth High School which is in the next town over from where we live. We are really lucky to both have such short commutes, and such awesome jobs.

Mom and Dad have started their cross country adventure. They have been on the road for a week and everything is going great. Thats the update for now!

Secret Mission!

I'm home on a friday night while Ben is off on a secret mission!! I am unable to disclose the location and nature of the trip, but soon more information may be available :0)

(he's probably going to kill me for putting that much up... hehe..oh well)

Still warm here in OK and I'm going to Prom tomorrow! It really is a lot more fun now then it was when I was in high school. It helps that I have a great pal to go with. My friend Kaelee and I have a bast-- last year we were dancing with some other teachers and the dj started playing some great mid-90s classics for us. It was a hoot. Ben gets to miss it this year, but I'm hoping there will be more opportunities (aka jobs) to come!

Here is a picture of us hanging around outside one night... we stayed out with friends bbqing (which they call grilling here, because bbq implies large cuts of meat being slow cooked in sauce). Lots of fun still yet to be had!

if you want something done. . .

Meaghan here... so Ben isn't the best updater (although I did totally laugh at him when he showed me he started a blog!) I've decided to take the reigns for a bit...

So it is April in Oklahoma and quite lovely, weather wise. Well, other than the tornadoes, golf ball size hail, and raging wild fires. Really, it's quite nice!
No, truthfully, it is starting to feel like spring with warm weather and lots of chirping birds. Apparently it gets so hot here in the summer even the birds are too hot to tweet!

School is winding down for me after a great trip to France with students. I have about six weeks left and then we will be back to new england. No news yet as to where we will be--but hopefully that will be coming soon! Wedding plans are well under way; I am not too worried-yet. We will see how that goes.

We are really excited to be moving back home (one way or another) and can't wait to meet Sadie and spend some more time with Kaia! We love our friends and family and can't wait to be closer to home.

its been a while

I was reading a few blogs today and noticed that the longest any of them had gone without an update was about a month. Seeing that it is now February and the last time I updated mine was October I figured it was as good a time as any to write a new post.

Meaghan and I just got back from a Super Bowl party at our friend Jonathan's house. We had more food than we knew what to do with. We had wings, crab puffs, spinich artichoke dip, and something called Bacon Explosion. You can see pictures and a recipe here. It was all amazing and I don't think I will have to eat for days. As far as the game goes I was not dissapointed. If the Giants are not playing I just root for a good game. Most of the people at the gathering were rooting for the Cardinals but I picked the Steelers so I rooted for them. Jonathan had an interesting and fun game to go along with the actual game. There were a list of questions that we all answered before the game such as who would win the coin toss, how long the national anthem would be, and what the first commercial would be selling? It was fun to root for things other than the Steelers or Cardinals. Jonathan and I tied for points but he won because he came closer to predicting the combined score for the end of the game. All in all a great day of food and fun with friends. There should be a Super Bowl once a month!
